In the same period; while the ratio of exports to imports was 213 percent, the WM sector continued to have foreign trade surplus.

Considering the production data compiled in line with the information received from AIMSAD members, it is estimated that the production in the first five months of 2022 increased by approximately 28 percent compared to the previous year and reached 155 million dollars. Domestic sales compared to the previous year; increased by 27 percent to 120 million dollars.

Russia in the first place in exports

According to the data in the report; Exports in the first five months of 2022, compared to the same period of the previous year; increased by 25 percent to approximately 63 million dollars. When the exported product groups are examined, it is seen that the machines in the others category were exported the most with a 30 percent share in the first five months of 2022. Most imports were made from China

In the first five months of 2022, imports increased by 20 percent compared to the previous year and amounted to 30 million dollars. In the first five months of the year, the Turkish woodworking machinery industry made the most imports from China with 11.1 million dollars. Italy followed China with 10.1 million dollars, Germany with 4.8 million dollars and Taiwan with 1.2 million dollars. In the period covered by the report, Turkey imported the highest number of sawing machines. When the year-end projections are analyzed, an increase of 10 percent in production and 13 percent in exports is expected, while a decrease of 35 percent in imports is expected.
